Dental radiographs often referred to as x-rays are becoming less important as newer technology is more accurate and less invasive because of newer diagnostic devices that do not use radiation.  Products such as the Canary System which uses lasers and heat to measure the crystalline structure of a tooth can allow it find a 50 micron defect up to 5 millimeters deep inside a tooth. Dr Snyder is the first office in the United States to offer this amazing new technology.  S-Ray's technology is going to be introducing an ultrasound based diagnostic tool that can scan teeth and bones to determine the presence of tooth decay and pathology in addition to being able to create diagnostic models.  CariVu by Dexis is another new diagnostic technology that uses intense lighting that illuminates the inside of teeth so that the attached camera can make it easy to see and document the health status.
